Monterey Bay Sanctuary
to Host Annual Research Symposium

Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary will hold its annual Currents symposium on April 14 at California State University, Monterey Bay. This year's theme is "From Lions to Luminescence: Linking Land and Sea."

Learn about some of the fascinating research and conservation activities taking place in our watersheds, wetlands, kelp forests and deep sea ecosystems. Understand the linkages between land and sea, as scientists tell tales of tracking mountain lions, studying sea otters, and searching for bioluminescent creatures of the deep.

WHATSanctuary Currents Symposium - "From Lions to Luminescence: Linking Land and Sea." The event is free and open to the public.
  • Hear presentations about exciting local environmental research efforts

  • Interact with more than 55 scientists and students presenting posters and describing current ocean and watershed research projects around the bay

  • Enjoy exhibits, displays and information provided by marine organizations
